Professor Dr. Edmund C. Baracat graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of São Paulo - Escola Paulista de Medicina, where he went on to complete his residency in Gynecology. He then completed a master's degree in Gynecology, and a doctorate in Gynecology. He started his academic career in Gynecology since 1991, teaching at the Federal University of São Paulo.

Prof. Baracat was the chairman of Gynecology at the Federal University of São Paulo in 1994 and later became chairman in Gynecology at the University of São Paulo in 2005. He was Dean of Undergraduate Studies at the Federal University of São Paulo (2004-2005) and since 2019 he has been Dean of Undergraduate Studies at the University of São Paulo (USP).

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cancer Institute of the State of São Paulo (ICESP) and is a full member of the Deliberative Council of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. He has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Gynecology and Obstetrics, acting mainly on the following topics: endocrine gynecology, menopause and reproductive health.

He headed a team responsible for the first successful uterine transplant leading to a live birth , a case which was published in the Lancet and which is considered a revolution in the area of infertility. During his career, Professor Baracat has so far published more than 1500 peer reviewed articles with an h-index of 55.

Dr. Chouery finished a PhD in Human Genetics and Molecular Biology at Université de Versailles Saint Quentein-en-Yvelines in France in 2008. She established, in 1998, the Molecular Biology Unit for molecular diagnosis, and in 2005 the Human Identification section at Saint Joseph University of Beirut.

She contributed to the establishment of the human genetics department at LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine that provides both research and clinical diagnostic services. She is currently an Associate Professor of human genetics and co-coordinator of the Genetics discipline.

Dr. Chouery is considered a leading expert in the field of human genetics worldwide with an h-index of 35 and 3681 citations, and having published more than 135 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters and case reports. She is among the human genomic team who cloned several mutations involved in many inborn errors of immunity. Dr. Chouery received several awards in acknowledgment of her achievement.

Dr. Rodriguez-Morales is an international leading authority in the field of infectious diseases having published more than more than 800 manuscripts, books chapters and case reports in this field. Dr. Al-Attar is a Consultant Nephrologist and Director of Donor Affairs and Organ Allocation Department at the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation. Dr. Al-Attar is leading figure in kidney transplantation in Saudi Arabia and currently acts as Scientific Editor of the Saudi Journal of Kidney Diseases (SJKDT). Dr. Joseph Naoum graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where he was also awarded an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. He completed his General Surgery Residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch and a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the prestigious Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine. He is currently certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General and Vascular Surgery and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is a Registered Physician for Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). He is also a member of various academic surgical societies.

His research interests include the design of novel vascular devices and has been the Principal investigator or Sub-investigator in many clinical trials. Dr. Naoum published more than 60 peer-reviewed journal publications, book chapters, and abstract with a Scopus H-index of 23. He has extensively presented and has been an invited lecturer at both USA national and international meetings. In addition, to research, Dr. Naoum is actively involved in teaching and training Medical Students, Residents and Fellows in both General and Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Naoum is an expert in vascular approaches to aortic surgery, limb salvage procedures, carotid surgery, dialysis access, and the treatment of venous disease and varicose veins. While at The Methodist Hospital in Houston,Texas he contributed the establishment of very successful dialysis access, limb salvage, venous and aortic surgery programs. He moved to the Middle-east where he joined the Lebanese American University (LAU) and the University Medical Center Rizk Hospital in Beirut, Lebanon and also opened a clinic in Doha, Qatar where he delivered expert care to patients from the MENA region and South Asia for several years.

He has returned to the Houston Methodist Hospital system as the Director of the Vascular Surgery service line at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital in Texas. Dr. Naoum remains a member of the DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center and continues to train future generations of physicians and medical professionals while delivering expert, professional and compassionate care to patients
