Information
For Reviewers
The peer review system exists to validate academic work. It helps to improve the quality of publishing, by ensuring the validity and integrity of submissions.
The origins of journal publishing go back to more than 400 years. To this day, peer-reviewing, despite many criticisms, remains the best method to improve the quality of published research. Reviewers, being at the center of scientific publishing, make the editorial process work by examining and providing respectful, constructive, and honest feedback on submitted manuscripts. Without this process, there is no control in scientific communication, which would diminish trust in the publications.
In addition to the benefit that reviewers offer to the scientific community, they themselves report several reasons for reviewing. These include value from mentoring younger/less experienced researchers, value from playing an important part in the scientific community, enhancing their reputation and future career, increasing their chances of a place on the editorial board, and many more.
The perfect reviewer of a manuscript is one who is working in the corresponding field of interest. However, being knowledgeable is not enough, as the process requires also an enthusiastic individual who is committed to getting the best for the manuscript.
To learn more about peer-reviewing, kindly refer to the IJCR Guidelines for Reviewers.
Peer reviewers of the International Journal of Clinical Research can also refer to the IJCR template for writing a reviewer’s report.
Interested in becoming a recognized peer reviewer? Do you feel like you have what it takes?
IJCR would be glad to offer you this chance to enhance your reputation and open up new opportunities. Register as a peer reviewer in our journal, and specify your field of interest. You will receive invitations for review based on your field. The first two reviews will be graded by the editor and if the reports are found to be valuable, you will be considered a credible peer-reviewer of the journal, and more manuscripts will be assigned to you. With every peer-review completed, you will receive a Reviewer Acknowledgement Email to thank you for peer-reviewing the specific manuscript, which you can send to Publons by forwarding the email to reviews@publons.com, and they will verify the peer-review and add it to your record.
Starting 2021, monthly, we will be choosing a peer-reviewer of the month based on their professionalism and dedication as peer-reviewers of IJCR. We will be awarding them a certificate of excellence as a sign of appreciation to all their efforts and time.
